6 hours stuck on Ghodbunder Road: was the road block right?

Late on 27 Oct 2026, supporters of slain Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Pradeep Purnekar blocked Ghodbunder Road at Manpada, Thane, demanding arrests in his murder case. Tyres were burned and the road stayed shut for about six hours (Lokshahi, 28 Oct). Commuters wrote online that they were stuck from 9 pm to past 2 am, some for 7 hours on Majiwada bridge, with senior citizens, small children and an ambulance in the jam. The family says justice is being delayed; police say five accused are in judicial custody (Free Press Journal, 27 Oct). So, was the road block right?
