Reported on September 11, 2026: a 3.9 km twin tunnel from Malad West to Kandivali, about 40 metres under Malad Creek, the Poisar River and mangrove areas, costing Rs 5,821 crore. Mining is slated to start in early 2027 with completion targeted for 2029, as part of a 22 km coastal road.
