Food adulteration

How should India tackle food adulteration and unsafe food supply?

📍 India

In July 2026 FSSAI urged consumers to report unsafe food through its mobile app and ordered a recall of Wonderland Raisins over pesticide residues above permitted limits. A July 26 report cites one in six samples failing tests and officer shortages, for example 80 officers against 210 posts in Karnataka.
