📍 Suryapet, Telangana, India
Gorre Ashok grew up on his father's 5-acre paddy farm in Anjalipuram, Suryapet district, Telangana (The Better India). He built his first machine, a hydraulic crane model, in Class 6, and at 17 left his village with Rs 42 in his pocket to build cheap tools for small farmers. From old cycle parts and pipes came a seed sower that farmers use standing up, "like a walking stick", for Rs 850, and a farm vehicle that sprays an acre in about 15 minutes (Global Indian, 11 Feb 2026). Forbes India recognised him in 2025 (Deccan Chronicle, 29 Oct 2025). His startup, Rural Rise Agrinery, says its tools have reached 3,000+ farmers. So, why do India's village inventors stay unknown?
